Stone & River

WHERE STONE MEETS WATER
Â
In Westport, I found myself sitting on a bench beneath the trees, listening to the river and watching the water move past the old stone walls.
Â
The stone was solid, weathered, and still.
Â
The river was always moving.
Â
I loved the contrast.
Â
That feeling stayed with me, and when I found the soft gray wool in Westport, I knew exactly what it reminded me of.
The color had the quiet, sturdy feeling of stone and the landscape around the river.
Â
I crocheted the wool into cables that move through the piece almost like the river itself.
The beauty is in the wool, the texture, and the stitches.
Â
It became a reminder that strength and softness can exist together as something solid and something moving, side by side.
Â
Made slowly and intentionally by hand, one stitch at a time.
