Gorse & Sun

A LITTLE GOLD IN THE LANDSCAPE
I spent ten days in Ireland, and for most of the trip, the weather was surprisingly bright and sunny.
There was one rainy day.
The rest of the time, I found myself driving through Connemara with my sunglasses on, music playing, and nowhere I needed to be.
I loved those drives. The roads wound through mountains and villages, past stone walls and bridges, with the landscape changing around every turn.
And everywhere I looked, there were flashes of bright yellow gorse. Golden against the darker mountains. Golden against the fresh spring growth. A little bit of sunshine scattered across the landscape.
GORSE & SUN
The locals told me the mountains would become greener later in the season, but I was going home before that happened.
And I'm actually glad I saw them as they were.
The darker colors, the early growth, the stone walls, and those brilliant flashes of yellow became part of how I remember Ireland.
These coasters came from that memory.
I chose a warm golden wool inspired by the gorse and sunshine. Their circular shape and soft fringe give them a little sunburst feeling.
The set includes three coasters — small, useful pieces that bring a little warmth and color to a table, coffee nook, or wherever you happen to enjoy a quiet moment.
Whenever I look at them, I think about those drives. The music. The sunshine.
The mountains waiting to turn green. And those little flashes of yellow appearing everywhere I looked.
Made slowly and intentionally by hand, one stitch at a time.
